DESCRIPTION:This course will provide an insight into the evidence base and the practical application of a multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery for cancer.\n\nThe course will focus on the following topics:\n\nPre-operative nutritional optimisation and prehabilitation\n\nAnatomical changes after surgery and associated consequences\n\nParenteral nutrition after surgery\n\nManagement of high output stomas\n\nSurvivorship following surgery for oesophagogastric cancer\n\nWho should attend\n\nThis study day is aimed at Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) working in the area of GI surgery, colorectal cancer and oesophagogastric cancer.\n\n
