BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 PRODID:-/-/EN BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:BASO 2018 Annual Scientific Conference and BASO Trainees Meeting UID:15 DESCRIPTION:BASO had a successful Annual Scientific Meeting on 4th November and BASO Trainees Meeting on 3rd November  hosted at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.\n\nWe would like to thank all our speakers, delegates and members, those who attended this meeting and made it into a successful event. The following awards were presented at this meeting.\n\n\n\nBASO Trainees Programme\n\nBASO Annual Scientific Meeting Programme\n\n2018 BASO Annual Conference: Meeting Highlights\n\nBASO~ACS had a very exciting joint meeting with the NCRI Cancer Conference this year. The following awards were presented by the Association at this meeting:\n\nThe Ronald Raven Prize was awarded to Mr Stephen Dreyer, University of Glasgow.The BJS Prize Paper was awarded to Miss Rachael Clifford,  The Countess of Chester Hospital.Alan Edwards Poster Prize is awarded to Dr Liz Baker, University Hospital of North Tees.The BASO Trainees Oral Prize was given to Mr Daniel Ball,Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.The BASO Trainees Poster Prize was awarded to Mr Christian  Teske, University Hospital Dresden, Germany.BASO also honoured the plenary awards to:\n\nThe BASO Raven Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Professor Sir Norman Williams, Emeritus Professor of Surgery, Barts and The London School of Medicine and SurgeryThe Uccio Querci della Rovere Award was presented to Professor Christobel Saunders, Professor of Surgical Oncology, University of Western Australia.The Geoff Oates Award was presented to Professor Ara Darzi, Paul Hamlyn Chair of Surgery, St Mary's Hospital.The BASO~ACS Plenary Lecture was presented by Professor Christobel Saunders, Professor of Surgical Oncology, University of Western Australia, at the NCRI Cancer Conference on 5th Nov.The Ernest Miles Commerative Medal was presented to Professor Paris Tekkis, Professor of Colorectal Surgery, The Royal Marsden Hospital.The Stanford Cade Lecture was presented by Professor Tim Underwood, Professor of Gastrointestinal Surgery, University of Southampton.BASO~ACS appreciates and thanks our sponsors for supporting this scientific meeting.\n\n DTSTART:20181103T160500Z DTEND:20181105T160500Z END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
