Royal College of
Surgeons are offering a research fellowship which
is worth up to £50,000 this includes salary, National
Insurance and other contributions, as well as an additional amount
for consumables. All applications are rigorously assessed by a
panel of experts to ensure that the research, the surgeon, the
supervisor and the facilities are of a high standard, and that the
proposed work will be valid, beneficial and original.
If you are a subscribing
fellow or member of The Royal College of Surgeons of England in a
training post, or, a trainee who has passed the MCQ papers and will
sit the final MRCS examination at this College, you are eligible to
apply.

The British Medical Association (BMA) research
grants
The Gunton & Gilchrist, is to assist
research into public health relating to cancer. Applications are
invited from medical practitioners or research scientists and can
be for either research in progress or prospective research based in
the UK.
In 2012, the Gunton & Gilchrist grant will
be awarded for an amount up to £35,000. The research grants are

Cancer Research UK
Are welcoming applications for research bursaries
from clinicians, nurses and those working in allied health
professions.
The bursaries will provide up to £25,000, for up to 12
months and funding can be used to cover your salary or your
research expenses, or a combination of the two.
You may apply for this scheme if your salary
is funded by an NIHR Academy Clinical Fellowship (or
equivalent) and you want to use the bursary to fund your research
expenses.
