The award is currently for a maximum of £3,000 and may be awarded to one or several individuals as considered appropriate by the BASO~ACS National Committee when considering the merits of their applications.
The Fellowship is open to UK-resident trainees or recently appointed consultants, who have gained the fellowship of one of the British or Irish Colleges, and who intend to travel outside the UK. Applicants need not be members of BASO~ACS or BASO Trainees Group (although this is desirable) but applications must relate to the aims and objectives of the Association.
Data Protection: The personal data submitted on this fellowship application will be used by the BASO~ACS for work on grant application assessment and will be held on the Association's database for future reference, and in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR 2018. Submission for the 2026 round of applications closes on 20th September.
Awards are usually confirmed within a month of the application closing date, and payment made upon receipt of proof of acceptance at the proposed study centre and proof of travel bookings made. Receipts are required to be provided to the value of the award.
Recipients of the Awards are also required to produce an article for the publication on the BASO~ACS website (with photographs if possible) after their overseas visit, and may also be invited to make presentation at the next Annual Scientific Meeting of the Association held in October/November each year.
