Mr Ibrahim Sallam is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with specialist expertise in breast cancer surgery, and complex partial breast reconstruction.

He holds European Board certification in Breast Surgery and a Master’s degree in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from the University of East Anglia. Before joining the NHS, he trained and practiced as a Surgical Oncologist and Breast Surgeon in Egypt, where he developed broad experience in complex cancer surgery, multidisciplinary care, research, education, and service leadership.

Mr Sallam is the Lead Founder of the Egyptian Group of Breast Surgeons and the Egyptian Society of Breast Surgery. He has also served as the ESSO/ESYAC National Representative for EGYPT, and previously acted as a Society of Surgical Oncology committee member.

Alongside his clinical practice, he is committed to training the next generation of surgeons and he is the Founder and Course Director of the Advanced Oncoplastic Breast Surgical Skills Courses. 

On 4th November 2024, Professor Sallam was officially appointed as an Ordinary Member of the BASO Council.
